The Gang’s All Here!
A site for the whole family
We at Geek Niche understand family (we’ve got a couple of our own), and we understand that keeping in touch with family can sometimes be a little bit difficult these days. We may have all sorts of nifty gizmos, but it’s often hard to remember all those e-mail addresses and URLs. Well… we’ve got a solution: A single site for the whole family. An e-mail address for everyone, a photo album that everyone can look at and add to, a family blog to keep up with all the special events and daily details, and a mailing list for more interactive communication. And the best part is that’s it’s simple enough that even Grandma can use it.
Let’s get personal
While being one big happy family is nice, we also know that the kids might want a little bit of their own space. Well, we’ve got that covered, too. Family Niche comes with 5 “web users”. What’s a web user? It’s a bit of private space inside the larger site. It’s got its own name, and its own password–just what your teenager needs. But it’s still part of the family site. So, Brittany can set up her own personal blog, and doesn’t have to worry about Josh getting in and messing around with it. How’s that for keeping peace in the family? It’s like getting 6 websites for the price of one. And that makes Mom & Dad happy.
Ours & Yours
There’s two ways to set up your Family Niche. You can go with the fully-hosted version (www.ourfamilyname.com), or you can be part of the Geek Niche family with the subdomain option (ourfamilyname.familyniche.org). What’s the difference? $2 per month–and a certain “cool factor”. If you go with the fully-hosted option, the domain name is yours. It’ll always be yours. With the subdomain option, you’re tied into our name; if you ever decide to leave us, you can’t take the name with you.
What’s included in the Family Niche package? Take a look below (if you don’t know what any of the stuff means, ask your kids, they’ll know).
